The 54 COACH program is designed for coaches and teachers who want to apply the VISION54 approach to their own field of expertise. The 54 COACH program improves and develops competence and confidence in coaches and teachers, and will increases awareness of strengths and identify areas for improvement.
There are two themes of 54 COACH programs: Every Coach Must Have a Purpose, and On Course.
Every Coach Must Have a Purpose
This three-day program is for those of you who want to learn more about how to apply the VISION54 concepts to your own coaching/teaching.
This is a coaches/teacher’s training camp designed to improve and develop yourself and increase your competence and confidence in your role as a coach/teacher.
During this three-day training camp we will guide you on how to become clear on your own beliefs and intentions for coaching/teaching. We believe one of the major roles in coaching is to enable others to learn and take ownership of that learning. When coaches give power to the people/players they are coaching they ultimately allow them to make better decisions and enhance their long-term learning and development. As a coach/teacher you can learn to create an environment where the player becomes motivated to actively and enthusiastically participate in their own development and to the best of their ability.
As a coach or teacher we believe we can never stop learning and developing ourselves. This training camp will increase your awareness of your strengths and potential areas for improvement.
You will get to practice your communication skills. You will learn how to develop an integral approach to coaching/teaching golf. You will decide on your own “maintenance & future practice” as a coach/teacher. You will have the opportunity to participate in discussions about the future of coaching and teaching and many other topics.
This program will be a lot about the what, why and how of coaching but more importantly it will be about who you are as a coach/human being and how you are developing as a coach and teacher.
On Course
The 54 COACH-On Course program is jointly presented by LPGA and VISION54. During this unique two-day program you will embark on a journey that will help you define your coaching beliefs and intentions. You will be introduced to tools you can use that help you integrate the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of the game. And you will discover how you can coach players to be “in the moment, “ prepare for the future, and manage the past.
Guiding your learning will be Lynn Marriott and Pia Nilsson, co-founders of VISION54. Lynn and Pia have combined their competence in a company whose mission is to coach and support, helping people develop and improve their performance in golf and all areas of their lives.
The 54 COACH-On Course program combines lectures, discussions, experiences and practices. Effective goal setting, emotional management, and creating a culture for productive practice and feedback are just a few of the concepts that will be explored.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to observe tour players during practice rounds of the US Women’s Open and discuss on-course coaching techniques during the observation.
